Abstract

The opportunity – 5 sessions of 4 hours during which students can learn about Passive Design to reduce energy demand in buildings. Existing materials – lots of text and powerpoint slides! The Solution - Experiential learning with contact time focussed on • Hands on learning activities • Interactive quizzes for reflection • Group presentations to ensure students absorb the findings from the activities • Opportunities for application - A flipped learning approach to teaching material provision • TED type presentations to keep within passive learning concentration span The result – engaged students, improved summative results, happy lecturer!
