Abstract

Examines the findings of Lord Young of Graffham's October 2010 report into the "compensation culture", entitled "Common Sense Common Safety". Questions the clarity and depth of analysis in the report. Assesses recommendations on the handling of unmeritorious claims, misconceptions which lead to a disproportionate fear of being sued, and the issue of excessive cost and delay.
