Abstract

Fundamental performance reviews lie at the heart of the best value regime. Yet as many local authorities have found the review process is far from simple. This article highlights some of the practical lessons about how to manage successful reviews. It draws on experiences of the best value pilots and the lessons learned during the first eighteen months of the statutory regime.
