Abstract

The paramagnetic tungsten(V) complex CpWCl2[1,2-(HN)2C6H4], CP* = C5Me5, has been obtained by interaction of CpWCl4 with o-phenylenediamine (1,2-diaminobenzene, o-pdaH-2). The X-ray crystal structure shows apseudo-square pyramidal geometry with the chelating diamido group andchlorine atoms forming the base and a slipped (3e) Cp group occupying the axial site.
