Abstract

This work examines pros and cons underlying the legal Obligation to microchip dogs from inWales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.1 For example by 6 April 2016, on importinga dog keeper who must ensure that the dog is microchipped within 30 days of importing thedog unless a veterinary surgeon certifies that microchipping would significantly compromisethe dog’s health.2 The powers under the Animal welfare Act also mentioned in this paperbecause of being the parent statute rationalising the legality of varied legislative enactmentsin Wales and England through authorising the formulation of different national authorities,3as well as suggesting the local or regional procedures that are desirable when dealing withanimal matters at decentralized levels.4 The likely articles also comprises of practical challenges differences in enforcing compulsory microchipping of dogs. An account of how similar developments have happened other parts of the World such as microchipping of cats in some jurisdictions. Scientific counter arguments for the development of this law. However these final observations are neither conclusive nor the most authoritative but a clear reflection of observations based on the available law and evidence at the time of writing.
