Abstract

Children with type 1 diabetes receive ongoing care from a multidisciplinary paediatric diabetes team, usually in a secondary care setting. Healthcare support workers have a role in paediatric diabetes care when children attend routine clinic or are admitted to hospital at diagnosis or during periods of acute illness. In this article, the management of childhood diabetes is explored.
