Abstract

Fluorite, quartz, calcite, sphalerite and galena infill NW-SE striking epi-Variscan fault lines in the Fennoscandian Border Zone at the SW margin of the Fennoscandian Shield in S Sweden. Isotopic data suggest that the lead was leached from the Proterozoic basement blocks that underly the hosting Cambrian sandstones. The mineralization was probably emplaced during lower Permian times in connection with the early stages of graben development at the edge of the shield
